If you're visiting Skagway, Alaska and want to experience breathtaking mountain scenery without committing to a full day excursion, this half day tour is the perfect choice.

Travel along the legendary Klondike Highway, cross into the beautiful British Columbia, Canada, visit the stunning Yukon Suspension Bridge, and stop for a photo at the iconic Welcome to Alaska sign before returning to town.

One of the ports for our Alaskan Cruise was Skagway, Alaska. We decided to take a tour of the Summit Experience & Yukon Suspension Bridge Tour on

Viator. We chose the bus tour over the train tour because on the bus we are able to get off to walk, see sights, and take photos. It was a hard decision, but I definitely would recommend this tour.

On this tour you will have plenty of time to stop for photos along the way through British Columbia, and you’ll hear stories all about Skagway, the Klondike, and the Gold Rush.

Just make sure you bring your passport, because this tour will take you out of the United States, into Canada, and back again. You get to cross the border by bus.

Journey Through the Klondike

Your adventure begins as we leave Skagway and climb the scenic Klondike Highway, one of North America's most spectacular mountain roads.

Along the way, you'll travel through the same rugged landscape that thousands of stampeders crossed during the Klondike Gold Rush.

Keep your camera ready and your guide will share fascinating stories about the area's history and wildlife.

Yukon Suspension Bridge

One of the highlights of the tour is a visit to the Yukon Suspension Bridge.

The bridge offers incredible views of the rushing water below and the surrounding wilderness. There is also several scenic viewpoints perfect for unforgettable photos.

Whether you're crossing the bridge or simply taking in the views, this stop is a favorite for visitors of all ages. You can get a snack or hot chocolate at the restaurant up there also.

Welcome to Alaska Sign

No trip along the Klondike Highway is complete without stopping at the famous Welcome to Alaska sign.

Located high in the White Pass, this iconic landmark marks your return to Alaska and offers one of the most popular photo opportunities in the region.

Surrounded by rugged mountains and alpine scenery, it's the perfect place to capture memories of your adventure.

Scenic Return to Skagway

As you make your way back to Skagway, you'll enjoy a different perspective of the mountains, waterfalls, and valleys you experienced on the drive north. Every turn offers another postcard worthy view, making the return trip just as memorable as the journey out.

You’ll arrive back in Skagway with plenty of time to explore downtown, browse local shops, or return comfortably to your cruise ship.
